Aralia leaf is also called finger palm. The beautiful dark green leaf can be recognized by its unusual shape and beautiful sheen. The leaf resembles a hand with fingers, this is because the leaf is deeply lobed. Hence the name: Finger palm.
Aralia is available year-round. It is a popular green for corsages and arrangements. Most Aralia is used as the size of a bouquet.
The Aralia is imported weekly from Costa Rica and Guatemala, where the leaves are picked by hand. The leaf grows cultivated. That is, the leaf is not picked in the wild. Black netting protects the cut foliage from the hot, bright sun. When the leaf is picked, it is cleaned several times. Then the leaves are sorted by size and packaged. Ready to come our way.
Besides the leaf from Costa Rica and Guatemala, we also increasingly offer the Aralia leaf from Southern Europe. You can easily find the different brands of Aralia in our webshop.
So after picking, the leaves are selected for length. This allows us to offer different sizes of Aralia. Besides the different sizes of Aralia, we also offer different types of Aralia. For example Aralia Milky Way, recognizable by the light speckles on the dark green leaves or Aralia Variegated, with variegated spots. Some of the Aralia branches are vascularized. This gives the cut greens an even longer shelf life.
At our supplier, the sheet is boxed and put on transport.
As we mentioned earlier, Aralia leaf is often used as the size of a bouquet. This is because the leaf is sturdy. Thanks to its dark green color, it combines wonderfully with other colors.
Our supplier Plantex gave the following tip for Aralia: Cut inches off the stem first before putting it in a vase, change the water twice a week and don't expose the leaf directly to sunlight. This way the leaf will last the longest.
