product information

Cheerfully colored branches with a softly sweet fragrance, the time for Mimosa Mirandol is here again. We import the branches full of yellow flowers on a weekly basis. It is impossible to imagine our assortment without the Mimosa branches. But did you know that the branches are known by several names? Mimosa, herb-rock-me-not or Acacia.

Time to dive into the story of yellow blossom branches!

MIMOSA, HERB-ROCK-ME-NOT OR ACACIA?

With us, the branches are known as Mimosa. But we understand the confusion!

The official name is Mimosa. The Kruidje-roer-me-niet, which you often hear in the Netherlands, is a species of Mimosa, but not the recognizable yellow one. This species has a purple flower. The flower we call Mimosa has the Latin name Acacia. In this, too, there are several varieties. Such as Clair de Lune, Floribunda, Mirandol. All with fine, yellow flower panicles.

VIVA LA FRANCE!

We import the famous Mimosa with the yellow flower mostly from France. But the many other varieties we import from Italy. Think of Mimosa Baileyana purpurea, Mimosa Luna Argento, Mimosa Denisbode and Mimosa Floribunda. All can be found in our webshop.

As long as the season allows, we get a weekly shipment of the cheerful product.

Mimosa grows on large trees. When you are in France in the right season you can enjoy views full of yellow colored clouds. Truly beautiful to see!

Mimosa is a true seasonal product, so its blossom symbolizes the light of spring. This is partly because Mimosa is one of the first spring bloomers.

When the time comes, the branches are cut, bundled, cleaned and put on water, ready to come our way.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that in the perfume city of Grasse (southern France), a veritable annual Mimosa festival is organized in honor of the Mimosa harvest.

GET GOING!

On its own in some small vases, combined in a cheerful bouquet or otherwise. Mimosa is a common product this time of year!

If you have incorporated the Mimosa Mirandol in a bouquet, please send this to us. We are extremely curious!
